There was a great mound,
Or so it seemed,
For I was skimpy,
And the rock was hefty.
It lay next to the hotel,
Sparkling in the sunlight.
One day, I was insinuated to climb the tantalizing mound,
For dazzling minerals were there,
Ready to be discovered.
So I climbed it cautiously,
Testing my footing before adjourning,
With a great breath,
I pulled myself up,
And- Oh! What a divine sight!
I could see the mountains off in the distance,
The cows grazing in the meadows,
Horses a-galloping.
But that was not what I had came for,
So I turned around and I gaped at my treasure.
Oh! They were brilliant!
Aglow in my hand.
Oh! They were vivid!
Beaming in my soft caress,
Twinkling in the rays.
I left my treasure there,
Vowing to return,
And I made my way down.
I was confident now,
I climbed half way down,
Before losing my footing,
And sliding down.
AAGHHH!
My T-shirt was flipped open,
My stomach was scarred and bleeding red.
My eyes were filled with salt-water,
Fresh from the waterfall,
They cleaned my face from earth.
Later on, I checked my short pockets.
And I found it,
A small piece of gold,
Waiting to be discovered.
